Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Submitted by Michele D
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling is the final installment in the epic adventures of Harry and his fellow wizards and witches as they battle the evil Lord Voldemort. Harry turns seventeen, the age of majority for wizards, and as his time with the Dursley's ends as does the special protections affording him by living with his Aunt Petunia. These are dark times in the wizard world. Lord Voldemort is openly taking control of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. This story is as much about the final battle between good and evil as it is about the full unfolding of the stories of many of the characters we have known and followed over the course of the last six books. We find that, like most people, these characters are not strictly black and white but beautifully rich and complex.
I devoured this book as I did the last six. There were many moments in the middle that dragged and the epilogue left as many questions as it as it answered. Even with these flaws, I plan to read the book a second time and revisit the enchanting characters and places Rowling created.
